PMI Islamabad Chapter Celebrates International Project Management Day 2007

Message: PMI Islamabad Chapter is celebrating International Project Management Day on November 2, 2007 by organizing a Dinner followed by a traditional musical program in an informal setting. All chapter members are invited and may bring along a guest (after registration).

Dear IIL Training Team:

On this, the third annual International Project Management Day, I would like to take a moment to thank you for your contributions to IIL and to our clients around the world. Each of you plays an important role in our success and growth. We appreciate your help, encouragement, hard work, communications and willingness to always go the extra mile for our clients and sales teams.

Please accept this note of appreciation on this very special day as we celebrate Project Managers and the work they do.

The idea of formally recognizing the value of project management and of designating a “day” for honoring project managers worldwide began with one individual — namely Frank P. Saladis, PMP, Sr. Consultant to IIL and co-publisher of allPM.com. Today, educational events and gatherings are taking place around the world. We hope that you are able to celebrate in some special way as well.

In New York, where we are headquartered, Mayor Michael Bloomberg proclaimed today, November 1st, International Project Management Day. The mayor said in his proclamation, “Today we join International Institute for Learning, Inc. to recognize the contributions project managers have made to our great city in the fields of business, government and community service. We are proud to have these dedicated individuals who exemplify the importance of leadership, cooperation and innovation.” This year Governor Eliot Spitzer has also issued a proclamation making it International Project Management Day throughout the entire state of New York.

Today IIL is hosting a worldwide webcast, Project Management: Power of the Profession which is bringing almost 3,000 project managers together to focus on project management best practices throughout the world and to witness how the profession is bringing companies to new heights. We invite you to attend the session if you are available. If you are serving our clients on this day there will be a recording of the entire program for your viewing.

All these activities represent a benchmark in how far the project management profession has progressed. But even more important, today is simply a good day to pause and recognize the important role you are personally playing as an individual project manager, often as one of the unsung heroes behind the big and small achievements that add up to great progress.

So, thank you. And keep up the good work.

Sincerely,

E. LaVerne Johnson President and CEO International Institute for Learning, Inc.
