International Project Management Day 1st Pernambucano Congress of Project Management
The PMI Chapter Recife, Pernambuco is hosting the 1st Pernambucano Congress of Project Management. The event theme is The New Frontiers of Project Management. This theme embraces all sectors of the economy and recognizes the contribution of project management to successful projects in the most diverse areas. Recognized speakers and industry leaders will describe how they run successful projects. .
Project Manangement: A World of Difference.
Alcatel-Lucent will hold its 2nd Annual International PM Day Symposium on 6 November. Entitled: "Project Management: A World of Difference" we will be having speakers such as Dr. Harold Kerzner and Jean Binder, as well as many Alcatel-Lucent PMs presenting lessons learned. Over 1,000 participants are expected.
Ontario Public Service International Project Management Day 2008
The second annual OPS International Project Management Day 2008 Conference and Awards is a chance to celebrate and learn more about the value of Project Management in the public sector. A roster of accomplished PM executives will share practical and inspirational insights on achieving project success. The morning of learning will lead into a networking lunch and awards ceremony, marking the second annual OPS Project Management Awards. More than 200 participants are expected.

The Jamaica Doctor Bird Chapter is hosting a conference entitled Project Management: Making it Work at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel. Featured speakers include The Hon. Clive Mullings, Minister of Energy, Professor the Hon. Errol Morrison, President, University of Technology, Ricardo Viana Vargas, Chair, PMI Strategic Planning and Program Alignment Committee, and Michael Strickland, PMI Region 14 Component Mentor.

WACHOVIA CELEBRATES PROJECT MANAGEMENT!
On November 6, 2008, the Wachovia Enterprise Project Management Community of Practice (PMCOP) will be hosting a virtual lunch-n-learn for all project management practitioners across the corporation to celebrate International Project Management Day. In addition to a keynote presentation that focuses on the value the project management offers our business, participants will enjoy an overview on cultural modeling followed by a panel discussion of a diverse group of global project managers who will share how culture impacts their projects and what they have learned through their experiences. Finally, a slide show of intersting facts and figures will allow our project management community to learn about the latest trends and performance metrics in the profession.
PMI Budapest, Hungarian Chapter with cooperation with other local PM associations (PMSZ, FőVOSZ, TIPIK) celebrates the PM day first time in Hungary.
Morning of 6th of November we have a press conference where high ranking representatives of the government and science are sharing their thoughts of the importance of project management to increase competiveness of Hungary and how PM can support integration of the country to the European Union.
We have scheduled our 10th PM Roundtable conference this day afternoon. The topic what we discussed from many viewpoints is the PM tools of very big (Giga) projects. We will have program managers of - investment projects of Hungarian International Development Agency, - DunaCity, establishing a new town in Island Csepel of Duna river - Cultural Capital program of Pécs for 2010 - Hungarian pilot of Vodafone worldwide backoffice revolution.
One month before the PM day 2008 we initiated a email-chain action to reach and collect all project people of Hungary.
Dr. Jerry Brightman presents "Creative Leadership Development Program" on International PM Day
Dr. Jerry Brightman, well-known as facilitator of PMI Leadership Institute programs in 2002-2005, is offering a one-day workshop on "Creative Leadership Development" on November 6 in Research Triangle Park, NC.
This one-day program, jointly sponsored by the PMI NC Piedmont Triad Chapter and Project Management Leaders Training, allows project managers to work in a hands-on workshop environment to develop creative and innovative leadership capacities and methodologies. This learning experience is a significant step in transforming managerial thinking into leadership judgment and expertise.
